About Us

Having access to the stories that have helped shape family firms for generations, and continue to provide the raison d'etre and values behind many family businesses today, we felt obliged to do something to capture the real essence of what makes family businesses different.  As such, it is a real privilege to reflect on the journeys that these families have been on too.

 

During the course of our work we have been given lots of books that reflect the passions, drivers, the generations behind the businesses and in the digital world that we now live in it would be so easy for them all to be forgotten.  Family Business United ('FBU') have teamed up with Western Pension Solutions ('WPS') to make a difference, to create something unique and in our eyes very special, a library of books that reflect the very nature of family business Britain.

 

FBU is an award-winning magazine and resource centre for the family business community and WPS are trusted advisers to family firms in the provision of advice and support to solve pension legacy challenges and secure employees' retirement future.  WPS are also part of the Vestey Group, a family owned conglomerate that has been around for generations too.

The Heritage Library seeks to recognise the endeavours of generations of families that have been in business and left a real legacy, and in the shape of their books we are delighted to collate something special, a real legacy from the work that we do, and to make it available for other families to peruse, learn and see how others have catalogued their history for generations to come.

In addition, we have created a simple gallery of images that are of historical importance to family firms which are available online too.
